The List: April 2017 (Mat, cleanser, and hemp hearts)

I'm trying something new. Maybe once a month, I'll blog about some products I've been using and loving. Consider it a yoga teacher's review. :)

The question of which yoga mat is the best is a popular discussion in yoga circles. Personally, I love my Jade yoga mat the best.

Here's why I love it...

  1. It's eco-friendly. 100% made of natural rubber.
  2. It has the best grip.
  3. It's cushioned enough to be comfortable without additional props when lying down.

When I started practicing yoga, I would buy cheap mats from Target. They worked, but they were unsustainable. After a couple of months, chunks of the mat would be coming off. My first time using a Jade mat I was amazed at how durable it was and immediately asked to get it for my birthday gift. I've been with it since.

In fact, Jade is mentioned as No. 2 on this Best Yoga Mat Reviews list.

For the last couple of months I've been using the Kale Detox Deep Cleaning Face Wash from Pacifica. I've always been open to trying new cleansers but now I refuse to buy another face wash!

Here's why I love it...

  1. The natural ingredient makes it smell like a green smoothie.
  2. It cleans so good, it even cleans my Clarisonic brush! I swear, the first time I used it, my brush looked cleaner afterward.
  3. It's gentle and doesn't irritate my oily, acne prone skin.

I haven't tried any other Pacifica products, but if I find anything else I like, I'll mention it. One thing they do really well is the packaging. It looks so pretty!

I did a 21-Day Detox with local health coaches recently. I learned so many interesting recipes and ways to eat healthy. But the one ingredient that blew my mind was hemp hearts.

Here's why I love it...

  1. It's packed with protein! 10g of protein in 3 tbsp!
  2. It has a very subtle, nutty taste, allowing for it to be added to anything from salads to pasta to smoothies.
  3. It makes eating healthy convenient.

One time, it even saved a dish I made. The nutty flavor toned down the sting of too much garlic.
